Sacharine

First-year medical student Hana is drawn into a disturbing world of body image obsession after meeting with a friend who has undergone a dramatic transformation. At the urging of her crush, fitness influencer Alanya, she joins an intense body transformation program and begins taking diet pills. The pills work almost immediately, but when she has them analysed, she makes a shocking discovery—they contain human ashes. Desperate for another supply, she secretly harvests bones from a cadaver during anatomy class. She sinks into a world beyond reality as she senses that she must break free from it before she loses control of herself completely.

The projection during Aussie & Kiwi Film Fest will be preceded by a short film Act of Protest.
