Olympic Halftime

The original Olympic Games were strictly a local affair. The modern Olympics have globalised not only their glory but also the global impact on urban planning and the lives of the people in the locations. The film offers reasons to consider whether a return to local action is such a bad thing. Olympic Halftime explores the legacy of the Beijing, Tokyo and Paris Olympics, cities that have already experienced the Olympics and are in the 'in-between' stages of preparing for the upcoming ones. Alongside this, we will explore the ruins of the Olympic stadiums in Olympia and Athens through the lens of Jiang Shengt, a young Chinese photographer and urbex explorer whose passion is documenting abandoned spaces.
