The lead role, as in the series, was played by the lyricist Phoebe Waller-Bridge, creator of another TV hit, Killing Eve, who won a BAFTA, two Golden Globes and Emmy nominations thanks to two series of FLEABAG. Vicky Jones directs this wild look at one woman's unconventional existence.
Fleabag may be obsessed with sex, herself and her emotions, which she can't filter, but that's just the tip of the iceberg. When someone has unresolved relationships with family and friends, plus a struggle to keep her stylish café afloat, she may one day find that she actually has nothing left to lose.
Phoebe Waller-Bridge has already performed her play, first performed and awarded in 2013 at the renowned Edinburgh Fringe Festival, to sell-out houses in London and New York. She returns to the UK for just four weeks at the end of the summer for the farewell run of her “hilarious” (New Yorker) show, which already sold out in minutes in the spring.
