Vermiglio, the Mountain Bride

High in the Italian Alps, the simple life of the villagers, living in harmony with nature, remains undisturbed even by World War II. Until fate brings Pietro, a young Sicilian deserter, to the majestic mountain peaks. The heart of Lucia, the eldest daughter of the local strict teacher, ignites with forbidden feelings, and deeply hidden secrets shake the village of Vermiglio. Director and local native Maura Delpero has created a delicate drama about love, courage, and female strength, for which she won the Grand Jury Prize at the Venice Film Festival.
