How can you explain whale skeletons in a coastal cave 35 meters above the Pacific Ocean? Forty scientists and experts are trying to uncover the answers during their two-month research in distant Patagonia.
The film documents a scientific expedition on the Chilean island of Madre de Dios. Braving the inhospitable polar climate, scientists attempt to explore and chart this remote and isolated area. The unique landscape hides a number of caves in which scientists make unexpected discoveries. Despite the efforts to preserve the landscape and its character, the expedition encounters many effects of global warming that are irreversible and will change the island beyond recognition in the future.
