Two Prosecutors

In 1937, Stalin is consolidating his power over the Soviet Union. Tens of thousands of falsely convicted citizens are held in inhumane conditions. They place their hopes in prison notes. Despite strict controls, one of the messages reaches the young ambitious prosecutor Alexander Kornev. With a head full of ideals and youthful stubbornness, Kornev sets out on a terrifying journey of discovery during the harshest Stalinist purges. This harsh totalitarian drama by renowned director Sergei Loznitsa became the highest-rated film in the Main Competition at the Cannes Film Festival in 2025.
