Eighteen-year-old Johana wants to leave her small hometown. She wants to pass her high school diploma and go to college. However, her last year of high school is more challenging than for her classmates. She has an irreplaceable role in her family – she helps take care of her younger handicapped sister every day. Despite all the love, she has to break out of everyone's expectations, find her own space and leave her sister's shadow. Johana is the so-called glass child, unintentionally overlooked by her overburdened parents and the world. Can she overcome her doubts and guilt and dare to put herself first, like her sister? This observational documentary explores the long-neglected topic of healthy siblings in families caring for children with special needs. In doing so, this intimate film gives voice to all those who have ever felt like the other.
