The Mummy Returns

The year is 1935, and Rick and Evelyn O’Connelly have set off for Egypt once again. This time, they are accompanied by their eight-year-old son Alex, who, as one of his parents noted, is smarter than his mother and braver than his father. The impetus for the expedition was a strange dream Evelyn had the very night that, according to the ancient calendar, marked the beginning of the Year of the Scorpion. The expedition is exceptionally successful, as the enthusiastic Egyptologist moves with confidence through the underground chambers of the former temple, as if she had been there before. And so, with almost no trouble, they manage to find a rare golden bracelet belonging to the god Anubis, to whom—more than 3,000 years B.C.—King Scorpion, the leader of the warriors who fell to the last man in battle against Anubis’s army, had sold his soul in exchange for his life. They transported their precious find to their opulent home in London, but soon they are ambushed there by unwelcome guests who know what miraculous and unprecedented power their discovery holds. At first, little Alex saves the bracelet, and it is he who soon becomes a hostage of those who do not hesitate to revive the mummy of the Egyptian high priest Imhotep once again, even at the risk of the destruction of an entire civilization. Rick, Evelyn, and her bon vivant brother Jonathan immediately set out on a mission to rescue little Alex, and they are joined by Ardeth Bay, the guardian of the City of the Dead, and his men.
