A unique psychological study of the tragedy of one individual. The aging hotel porter was a symbol of the big world for the whole neighbourhood thanks to his uniform of a doorman. But no longer able to carry the suitcases of arriving guests, he is reassigned by the manager to the position of toilet cleaner. In order to attend his daughter's wedding with dignity, he steals the uniform.
