The Crystal Planet

Eleven-year-old Rea moves with her father to a newly colonized planet following a family tragedy, where her father takes a job at a replication factory. There, Rea meets Andy, and together they discover an underground world that people know nothing about. When they find the lone young of a rare creature, they decide to protect it from a greedy governor who wants to exploit the animal for his own profit. Their search for the truth leads them into dangerous caves, where they discover that reckless waste management is threatening the entire hidden ecosystem.
