The Abyss (short films programme)

Confronting hateful ideologies and existential angst, coping with the passing of loved ones, embarking on journeys of self-discovery, and life in the midst of war. All of these can bring about a period of turbulent life changes at the turn of childhood and adulthood, when one can learns about themselves while facing the toughest challenges of life in the outside world so far.

THE ABYSS short films programme was created by young people between the ages of 15 and 19, who selected films that have attracted the attention of juries at leading festivals around the world (Berlinale, Clermont-Ferrand, Ottawa, as well as Oscar nominationated titles). As a result, the programme brings together the best contemporary films, both from the point of view of critics and audiences themselves.
