Mike Sardina (Hugh Jackman) makes a living impersonating much more successful performers and singing their songs on various entertainment shows. Claire (Kate Hudson), who has been constantly beaten down by life, tries to earn a living in the same way. When the two meet, it's love at first sight, despite their bitter experiences so far. And since, despite the circumstances, their personal lives begin to work out quite well, they decide to join forces professionally as well. They form a band that plays exclusively the music of the famous singer Neil Diamond, whose "Sweet Caroline" is one of those everlasting songs. With Diamond's repertoire, they tour all over America and soon find themselves on the verge of fame. But luck is unstable lady, and she knows that those who are flying high are the ones who fall the hardest. And when it comes to the blows of fate, these two are like lightning rods. The advantage of someone who has hit rock bottom, however, is that when they get up, they have someone to lean on. Like Mike and Claire.
