Shrek

Shrek, a green ogre with alien antennae ears, lives a quiet but happy life in his little house on the edge of the forest—until he is literally overrun by an endless stream of familiar and not-so-familiar fairy-tale characters who have been banished from the kingdom of the unsightly and sour Lord Farquaad. In an effort to restore order and, above all, bring peace back to his home, Shrek promises Farquaad that he will rescue the beautiful Princess Fiona from the clutches of the dreaded dragon and bring her to him to become his wife. With the help of a cunning donkey, willing to do anything for Shrek except shut up for even a moment, the ogre fulfills his promise, but then things get strangely tangled up, entangled, and complicated, so that in the end everything turns out completely and utterly different...

Once upon a time, twenty-five years ago, we discovered that a terrifying ogre named Shrek lived in a filthy swamp—though he was actually a pretty nice guy, with a chatty donkey and his loving ogre wife Fiona by his side.

In that very swamp, a massive and incredibly popular phenomenon was born, comprising four films (the fifth is set for July 2027). To mark his birthday, the green fairy-tale antihero is returning to the big screen—an occasion not only for celebration but also for a trip to the movies.
