Even now, in Czechia one can be imprisoned simply because a police dog identifies an assigned scent trail after months of unsuccessful attempts. This unreliable method results in a large number of false accusations and led Zuzana Piussi to create a compelling report about this dubious investigative procedure.
What to do with a method that seems to survive only because some investigators like dogs and have devoted their entire lives to training them? Now they are doing everything they can to ensure that their position doesn’t change.
