Join us for our next event in cooperation with Edison Filmhub on May 16. Three filmmakers. Three perspectives. One shared rupture.
One World, Apart brings together three documentary films that trace the aftermath of the February 6 earthquakes in southeast Turkey and northwest Syria. Through the eyes of Koray Kesik (60), Umi Ito (STRAN), and Nesime Karateke (SEVA), we follow not only the scale of devastation, but the quieter, deeper tremors that linger – in memories, in silences, in acts of care and defiance. These documentaries are not just about disaster. They are about what it means to live on – to resist erasure and to rebuild meaning. They invite us to remember together – and to speak together.
And we invite you – after the screenings – to a panel and Q&A with some of the filmmakers and other guests.
(note that there will be a 15-minute intermission)
