Bear (Michael Johnston) is an ordinary young guy whose love for his coworker Nikki (Inde Navarrette) is as intense as his shyness and his inability to ask her out on a date. Desperate people do desperate things, so Bear buys a dubious toy at a shady junk shop that, according to the instructions, can grant him one wish. Any wish at all. The young man doesn’t have to think long about his. He wants Nikki to love him. The result comes almost immediately. Nikki is in love with Bear. Passionately and madly. So madly that it’s dangerous, and Bear starts to mind it. At first just a little, and then a lot. The more it bothers him, the colder his feelings toward Nikki become. But Nikki is still crazy about him. And, driven mad by all this romantic imbalance, she starts acting like a madwoman. Slightly frightened, Bear would like to return his wish, but the owner of the shop where he bought the wishing tool isn’t much help—or rather, he gives Bear advice he didn’t want to hear. The spell of the wish can only be broken by death—preferably his own.
