The story of NOSFERATU, a legendary horror film from the early era of cinema, is based on Bram Stoker's Dracula, with only a few details changed from the original. More than a century after its creation, the distinctive director Robert Eggers has made a new adaptation.
Ellen Hutter (Lily-Rose Depp) would be a happy newlywed if she weren't haunted by terrifying nightmares. What's more, her husband Thomas (Nicholas Hoult) must travel to wild Eastern Europe on business to broker a deal for the mysterious Count Orlok (Bill Skarsgård). Who would have guessed that there was a direct link between the trip and the dreams, that the Hutters have become pawns in the nobleman's game to spread the reign of absolute evil across the continent? Despite the incredible hardships Thomas goes through because of his encounter with Orlok, he eventually manages to return home. But his return is not a victory. Ellen is slowly succumbing to madness, and darkness and death are spreading all around. Only the eccentric Professor Eberhart von Franz (Willem Dafoe) is on the couple's side, knowing how powerful an enemy they face. Will it be enough to stop Nosferatu?
