Nepela

Figure skater Ondrej Nepela returns from the 1972 Winter Olympic Games with a gold medal, greeted by adoring fans but also the reality of the communist regime. Everyone treats him like a celebrity, but the sensitive Ondrej longs above all to escape from his golden cage. He wants to live freely and in harmony with who he feels he is. However, at the last minute, he is denied the promised chance to join a professional ice revue and is ordered to participate in the next world championship. Disappointed, Nepela must find new motivation and also come to terms with the tragic death of his best friend, figure skater Hana Mašková.
