Helen Mirren (The Queen) returns to the big screen as Queen Elizabeth II in the hit production directed by Stephen Daldry, which has won both Olivier and Tony Awards.
For sixty years, Queen Elizabeth II met with each of her twelve prime ministers in private weekly meetings. These meetings are known as “audiences.” From Winston Churchill to Margaret Thatcher to David Cameron, the Queen advised her prime ministers on both public and personal matters. Through these private audiences, we gain insight into the life of the woman behind the crown and witness the moments that shaped a monarch.
Peter Morgan’s play, which was filmed live in London’s West End in 2013 and became one of NT Live’s most-watched productions, inspired the hit Netflix series The Crown.
