In MUFASA: THE LION KING, the shaman Rafiki tells the legend of how a young lion took control of the Lion Kingdom and became everyone's favourite ruler. He introduces the orphaned lion cub Mufasa and a friendly lion named Taka, heir to the lion throne, and takes the audience on a spectacular journey where the two lion heroes are accompanied by a group of quirky characters.
The story unfolds through flashbacks. Mufasa, a lost and lonely lion cub, one day meets the friendly lion Taka, heir to the lion throne. Their chance meeting marks the beginning of a spectacular journey for a remarkable group of peculiar heroes as they try to discover what life has really dealt them. Working together, they are forced to escape a terrifying and deadly enemy and discover if their bond with each other is truly strong enough to withstand the test. This all-new feature film, which combines elements of live-action filmmaking with photorealistic computer graphics, is directed by Barry Jenkins, produced by Adele Romanski and Mark Ceryak, and supervised by Peter Tobyansen. The songs for the film were written by award-winning composer Lin-Manuel Miranda.
