Lubo, a street artist of Yenish descent, is drafted into the Swiss army in 1939 to protect the borders from the threat of a German invasion. Shortly thereafter, he learns that his wife has died trying to stop the gendarmes from taking away their three young children. Other children belonging to the nomadic Yenish nation suffered the same fate when they were taken from their families as part of the national “re-education” programme for Yenish children. Lubo will not rest until he has recovered his children and obtained justice for all those who share the same fate.
