While shopping for groceries, The Grump is suddenly drawn to an irresistible scent - a mixture of chainsaw oil, pine bark and sawdust. The scent belongs to the free spirit of Saimi. Drawn to her, The Grump is struggling to believe that, in his heart, he could ever feel like a young man again. He can’t help but admit that he enjoys Saimi’s company. The words, gaze and touch of another person awaken long-lost feelings and shed light on the loneliness of a long-term widower. His sons are skeptical, even jealous of their father, and don’t trust Saimi’s intentions. Who knows, maybe she’s after his inheritance? Family meetings, misunderstandings, swimming in the moonlight and sleepless nights ensue, in this heartfelt and entertaining comedy imbued with deadpan humour.
