Little Thief

"Little thief" – robber, pickpocket, swindler, scoundrel, crook, but also the "hero" of Ondřej Hudeček's comedy about thieves, the first Czech director ever to win at the world-famous Sundance Film Festival. He set his new film in his native Strážnice during lockdown and cast Matyáš Řezníček, Denisa Barešová, Stanislav Majer, Václav Neužil, Lukáš Příkazký, and Filip Kaňkovský in the leading roles. While the atmosphere of the place is brought to life by local amateur actors and the dialect of Slovácko, the uniqueness of the time is reflected in the ever-changing rules that allow Czech national talent to flourish.
