"With the fall of Umar al-Bashir's dictatorship in 2019, there is hope for fundamental political change in Sudan. But the dream of democracy will be dashed by a military coup that will plunge the country into chaos and drive millions into exile.
We follow the political situation in the country through a mosaic of stories of a group of people forced to leave the country in this way. The Sudanese creative collective allows them to reconstruct their experiences in an improvised studio, where they come to life in front of a green screen thanks to impressive mixed-media animations.
Through different life experiences and generational differences, multilayered perspectives on the conflict are revealed. The film explores issues of identity, motherhood, growing up and the impact of political crises on the everyday lives of ordinary people longing for security."
