Häxan: Witchcraft Through the Ages

The horrors of the Inquisition are revealed through the tortures subdued by a woman suspected of witchcraft; a masochistic priest whips himself for having impure thoughts about a woman while a witch brews a love potion for a young widow who wants to seduce a priest; and a young nun possessed by the Devil blasphemes a saintly statue.

The screening, presented as part of this year’s Silent Nights, will be accompanied by live music from one of the regular performers at our silent film screenings – Prezident Lourajder, a Slovak rapper and MC from Bratislava, a lyricist and beatmaker specialising in underground and boombap vibes. Visitors will hear raw and intimate tracks far removed from the mainstream.
