Flood (SK)

The film FLOOD tells a powerful Rusyn story from Czechoslovakia in 1980. Fifteen-year-old Mara longs to become a pilot and leave village life behind. However, her father Alexander, a Rusyn widower, insists that she stay at home and continue working on the family land. Their internal struggle between tradition and the desire for freedom escalates when their valley faces inevitable flooding due to the construction of the Starina reservoir. Both must come to terms with the loss of their home and family heritage and find their way back to each other.
