Far from being Lipizzans

It seems that obtaining citizenship in Austria is a real "struggle." This is also true for director Olga Kosanović, who was born and raised in Austria but has not yet been granted Austrian citizenship. Someone commented on her case on the internet with the words: "When a cat gives birth to kittens in the Hofburg riding hall, that doesn't make them Lipizzaner horses." The statement captures the essence of the problem: who is allowed to be part of "us"? What idea of identity underpins legislation that divides society into "us" and "them"? A lively documentary about where we actually belong – and at the same time the director's second attempt at definitive integration into Austrian society.
