Double Feature: Animale & Titan

Camargue, France - Infamous for its traditional bull race, an exhilarating and graceful challenge of agility and respect between man and beast. Young men are being murdered everywhere, and the beast is nowhere to be seen. In Animale, Emma Benestan explores the journey of a young woman determined to become a bullfighter. This raw French drama powerfully contrasts female strength with traditional masculinity. Set against the backdrop of the bull-running tradition in the south of France, the film reveals the intense struggle between personal ambition and entrenched gender roles.

TITANE (France, Belgium, 2021, 108 min, dir. Julia Ducournau, cast: Vincent Lindon, Lais Salameh, Agathe Rousselle, Garance Marillier)

From writer/director Julia Ducournau (RAW), comes this Cannes Palme d'Or winning body-horror extravaganza focusing on a woman with a titanium plate in her head who embarks on a bizarre journey of murder, identity and unconditional love when she's forced to go on the run.
