Disclosure Day

The Disclosure Day is supposed to be the day when humanity finally learns the truth. About what? So far, only a few people have any idea—including data analyst Daniel (Josh O’Connor), who is supposed to be the one to reveal it all. Unfortunately for him, however, there’s a team of people capable of anything whose mission is to prevent this leak. At any cost. They have a whole range of reasons—some good, some bad—for doing so. Among the better ones is the fact that revealing the truth could completely disrupt the world order and cause irreparable damage. In addition to Daniel, Margaret (Emily Blunt), a weather anchor at a small-time TV station, also finds herself in the crosshairs of the pursuers, led by Noah Scanlon (Colin Firth). What looked to the uninitiated like a live on-air nervous breakdown is actually… No, nothing more can be revealed—the Disclosure Day hasn’t arrived yet.

The question of whether we are alone in the universe is one that has significantly shaped director Steven Spielberg’s career. The creator of E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial, War of the Worlds, and Close Encounters of the Third Kind therefore returns to this favorite theme in DISCLOSURE DAY. “I just don’t believe we’re alone out here. This topic has challenged me my whole life, but at the same time, it inspires me. I believe I’ve resolved it with this film,” says the legendary filmmaker.
