Crossing

Lia, a retired Georgian teacher, promised her sister before she died that she would find out what happened to her long-lost niece Tekla. A young man from the neighbourhood, Achi, claims that Tekla has fled to Turkey and is living in Istanbul. He convinces Lia that they will go looking for her together. Arriving in Istanbul, they discover a beautiful, vibrant city full of life, but the search for someone who has no intention of being found proves harder than they expected. Levan Akin's fourth feature film delivers an emotional and visually stunning journey of forgiveness and acceptance, in which the magical genius of the Turkish capital plays a major role.
