A chilling atmosphere in eerie shades of blue, a silenced past and a twisted criminal case that should have been forgotten long ago. Detective Óðinnse gradually uncovers disturbing facts about a juvenile detention facility where two boys died under strange circumstances in the 1980s. The tragedy was dismissed as a disaster at the time, but the reopening of the case brings new facts to light, as well as mysterious events. The detective's professional life soon overlaps with his personal, and the case also affects his teenage daughter, whom he is raising alone after his wife's peculiar suicide. Rational thinking begins to crumble, and so does the protagonist's certainty. This frosty crime drama straddles several genres and is based on the bestselling novel by Icelandic writer Yrsa Sigurðardóttir. In the director’s chair is established and vibrant horror filmmaker Erlingur Thoroddsen, who skillfully combines familiar genre conventions with local Scandinavian poetics. The film picked up six nominations at the Icelandic Film and Television Academy Edda Awards.
