Does the journey into the depths of an ex-student's soul lead through hip hop, heartfelt ballads, philosophical musings on hot dogs, or close encounters of the third kind with aliens on a quest to discover the flavors of human junk food?
A pastel-hued, whimsical cartoon created largely by one man in Blender, Boys Go to Jupiter combines the best of the style of cult animated series from Cartoon Network (Adventure Time, Steven Universe) and Adult Swim (Rick and Morty, Common Side Effects) - indeed, the film's creator, animator, writer, composer and director Julian Glander previously worked for both stations. This kind of summer-in-winter is certainly not unfortunate, but incredibly charming, unobtrusively endearing, heart-warming and, most importantly, wonderfully feel-good.
