Alfabeto Mangiarotti

The Milanese architect, designer, and sculptor Angelo Mangiarotti is one of the most important figures of the Italian art scene of the second half of the 20th century. In the 1950s, he was influenced by his stay in the United States, where he was introduced to key architectural figures such as Frank Lloyd Wright, Walter Gropius, Mies van der Rohe, and Konrad Wachsmann. From sculptures to industrial furniture to houses, Mangiarotti’s work is easily confused with the contemporary design aesthetic to which he undoubtedly contributed. He understood the material and was not afraid to explore its physical and ideological limits. The documentary brings to light the interdisciplinarity and enduring qualities of his legacy.
